Reports: Head of Clinical Services Job Purpose

Offering, leading and planning for radiology services within the hospital.

Main duties and responsibilities: 1. Conducting radiology examinations on patients as per the available modalities. 2. Ensuring the department is mannered at all times with the right staffing, right qualifications and right licensure at all times. 3. Seeking feedback from patients about the quality of service and using the feedback to implement feedback programs within the hospital. 4. Actively managing patient and staff complaints and ensuring each complaint is handled to logical conclusion. 5. Carrying out on the job training and mentorship of staff in the department as well as instruction of radiology interns on external rotation within the hospital. 6. Developing, implementing and monitoring SOPs, protocols and guidelines for the department. 7. Working with the relevant teams to ensure equipment licences, maintenance are up to date. 8. Monitoring cost and finances within the department to ensure efficiency. 9. Active member of the multidisciplinary health care team and contribute to the continuing professional development programs in the hospital. 10. Setting realistic business targets in the department and meeting them. Requirements/Qualifications Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Specialist Practice License by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council. Valid Professional Indemnity. At least 3 years’ experience as a Radiologist. Experience heading a department/Managing Team. Required Personal Characteristics and competencies Good Written and Oral Communication Skills Excellent interpersonal Customer Orientation Ability to lead, manage and inspire team Knowledge of radiation safety standards Knowledge of quality management systems related to radiography Interested and qualified?
