Our client a group of club and restaurants is looking for a pastry cook to join their team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
- Ensure daily checks of all mis en place to ensure freshness and quality standards
- Prepare daily production of breads, rolls, muffins, cakes and other baked goods according to standard recipes
- Inspect product for quality and consistency during and after baking
- Review production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake
- Monitor inventory of supplies and order stock based on daily and weekly requirements
- Complete production sheets needed for the daily operation
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Maintain consistency for all items leaving the Bake Shop
- Follow Kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Arrive at work for scheduled start time, ready to commence work with appropriate tools, uniform and in adherence to the grooming policy
- Clean and maintaining all tools and equipment
- Wear gloves when handling food that is not to be heated enough to kill bacteria or when handling food in front of guests
- Able to clean, organize and maintain a work area
- Insure proper labeling, dating and storage of all items in the kitchen
- Adhere to all health and safety standards, guidelines and policies
- Prepare daily mis-en-place for assigned kitchen area
- Control waste and spoilage in assigned kitchen area
- Handle guest allergy concerns with appropriate care and importance
- Keep work area clean and organized, and set for the other Colleagues
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Bakery required
- experience in at least two different kitchen sections
- Degree or Higher Diploma in Food Productions is an added advantage
