Driver II
The Anti- Female Genital Mutilation Board is a state corporation under the Ministry of Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage responsible for implementing the prohibition of Female Mutilation Genital Mutilation Act, 2011. The Board invites applications from qualified persons for the following vacant position(s):
Driver II (AFGM 11)- Vacancy No. AFGM/18/2023 (1post)-Permanent and
Pensionable
a. Duties and Responsibilities
i. Driving the vehicle as authorized;
ii. Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle, passengers and goods on and off the
road;
iii. Maintaining daily work ticket;
iv. Ensuring routine service and maintenance of the vehicle;
v. Carrying out routine checks on vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems
and tyre pressure;
vi. Detecting and reporting vehicle defects on time;
vii. Ensuring vehicle cleanliness;
viii. Timely reporting of accidents and follow up of police abstract; and
ix. Vehicle inspection and keeping up-to-date insurance documents.
b. Requirements for Appointment
i. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade D (plain) or
its equivalent;
ii. Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement;
iii. Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution;
iv. Occupational Trade Test Grade III;
v. Suitability Test for Drivers; and
vi. First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John
Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any
other recognized Institution.
c. Essential skills and Competencies
i. Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
ii. Familiarity with GPS devices.
iii. Interpersonal skills.
iv. Basic knowledge of Motor Vehicle functionality.
v. Time management skills.
