Assistant Director of Supply Chain Management
The Anti- Female Genital Mutilation Board is a state corporation under the Ministry of Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage responsible for implementing the prohibition of Female Mutilation Genital Mutilation Act, 2011. The Board invites applications from qualified persons for the following vacant position(s):
Assistant Director, Supply Chain Management (AFGM 4)- Vacancy No. AFGM/7/2023 (1post)-Permanent and Pensionable
a. Duties and Responsibilities
i. Implementing procurement and supplies management projects and
programmes;
ii. Preparing tender and prequalification documents for expression of
interest for the board;
iii. Implementing and adhering to regulations and policies on supply chain
management;
iv. Coordinating the opening, evaluation and negotiation of tenders and quotations;
v. Ensuring the maintenance and archiving of procurement and asset disposal
documents and records for the required period;
vi. Preparing estimates of expenditure on supplies and services;
vii. Carrying out of survey on disposal of obsolete stores and unserviceable equipment;
viii. Sourcing for suppliers;
ix. Procuring goods and services as per the laid down procedures;
x. Undertaking market surveys and research;
xi. Participating in preparation of annual procurement plan;
xii. Preparing periodic reports; and
xiii. Carrying out inventory and stock control, in accordance with the laid
down regulations and procedures.
b. Requirements for Appointment
i. Twelve (12) years cumulative experience, four (4) of which should have been at
Principal Supply Chain Management Officer or a comparable position in a reputable
organization;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Procurement, Supplies
Management, Business Administration (Supply Chain Management option),
Commerce (Supplies Management option) or its equivalent qualification from a
recognized institution;
iii. Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Supplies Management, Business
Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iv. Membership to the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM), Chartered
Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or any relevant professional body;
v. Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks course from a
recognized institution will be an added advantage;
vi. Proficiency in computer applications; and
vii. Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, managerial and
administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
